[ The question of the Arehtei makes Red blink, brows lifting. It puts aside the rest of the theories when the question feels more immediate. ]

Would it? Usually it takes something big to affect them. [ Right...? ] Should we check up on them?

I think we should. They now have an entire population of people who can't control their fluxing emotions. If the protections being removed don't affect them.

[He sighs. Not letting go of Red. If anything he holds on a little tighter. Not enough to hurt but enough to clearly convey his worries.]

I'm worried for the plants on the island. Will they keep growing? Or will they die.

[ He touches his free hand over that of metal, then drifts under to the hand he already holds, and cups it much like what's been done to his. It's for reassurance, yet the optimism to follow it has yet to reach his face, his brow knitted together. ]

The Arehtei were okay after people lost their crystals before... but we don't know how long that'll really last if we don't find that crystal quick... [ Mmm.. ] Is there anything that can handle this in the mean time? ... The only thing that's covered the entire island before is Aiada's obelisks and when Daimonia and Thras called their interdiction. But an interdiction isn't going to work, and we don't really know if those obelisks will help the island stabilise... all they did last time was make a barrier and make it rain.

[ There's so much more to think about, and Red's mumbling towards the end. He can already hear Sosyne being upset about the lake and the animals in it. Regardless, he doesn't let go of Komada, no matter how unsure he really is. ]

Not the Obelisks. They pushed all the other Arehtei off the island. ...could we find ways to form small barriers? Shaarnath's people might have ideas for temporary measures.

[ Would it work? He wonders, but he's not about toe dismiss it. ] We can ask Theasthai too... they both know how to use crystals, and we've got plenty of those.

[ ... ] But we should figure out what the government are already planning about this. Would we be able to find out through the committee?

I would think so. If we approach it as a concern about long term fluxing causing disruption of balance... [He nods to himself once.Yes and no one would think twice if he headed that inquiry. Komaeda laughs quietly. Business as usual, isn't it?]

If they're not planning about it. We can make the suggestions. Hopefully they are. Leaving things alone would be terrible!

[ Nagito would know. He's had far more dealings with the government, and it wouldn't be entirely wrong to assume that Sosyne would have an interest in the state of affairs if he was to come along and help--at least he would be able to verify that without even speaking to the Arehtei. Though, he'll do that too...

It's a plan, and Red finally smiles, something small and relieved. He remembers where his hands are, presses them together around the one he holds. An odd position, maybe, but not when it comes to them. ]

It's important to them too--I bet they're already making plans than just sitting around. But we can still see what's going on. [ He says it with more confidence than before, and gives a quick look to the strap of his bag. ]

I still want to fill a couple of these devices with something to help me use my dunamis, but I'll need to empty them first. But after that... calm should be a good deflector, right? [ His smile quirks, looking fond as he admits: ] And I know I'll feel calmer with you around than filling them alone.

[ A friendly face is better than none, in times like these. ]

[He can't help but smile and all the remaining tension drains from his face. Calm would do a lot to hold so much anxiety and turning emotions at bay. Or at least keep a clear head for weathering it. He slowly slips his hands out of Red's but offers his left one again to hold in to.]

Calm would be wonderful! It will help combat at a lot of the effects or keep one from panicking when they can't. Hope would unfortunately...it can be blinding and desperate hope is dangerous.

Faith as well. [One only has to look to history for the answers to what faith when misused can do.]

...And it would be good to resettle my mind. Ahaha, the way this weather turns brings back memories. It's a little too easy to think it's all just me.

It's been one thing after another, huh? [ He doesn't take a hold of the hand but reaches for the straps of his bag, kneeling down to open it up. ]

You can prepare on the surface, but with the island as it is, you don't know when you're going to get affected, or what emotion. It's a mess! [ Hooking the straps back over an arm he stands, two metal containers the size of tennis balls in his hands. ]

I was filling these to help with the ice over on Elios's mountain-- Usagi was interested in returning there sometime, and he needs the extra help. [ Elios, that is. ] I'll just let them out here, outside the city. It's a long way to go today.
